Squires Gate are delighted to announce Andrew Collins as our new reserve team manager.
After both the chairman and first team manager Dave McCann looked closely through several applications Collins was chosen to lead Gates new team forward.
The name will be familiar to long time Gate fans as Andy has pulled on the Blue jersey before. Andy played for the club back in the 2013/14 season forming a partnership with Neil Unsworth and occasionally manager Dave McCann.
The forming of a reserve team see’s the start of a new era for Gate who look to kick on from last season’s success in the league. The team will allow playing time to young local players aswell as first team players not featuring.
Collins has been working with first team manager and assistant manager Dave McCann and Richard Thomas during training and it well aware of the talent available across the two squads.
Collins took charge of the reserves first game at School Road last week when they faced Academica. You can read the report from that game here.
An announcement on the reserves sides fixtures will be made in due course.
